About the role#
The AV Intern supports the University Catholic Center by preparing for and monitoring audiovisual needs for events requiring live recording or streaming. This role reports to the Director of Evangelization and Communications. The position is for the 2026-2027 academic year and requires the ability to act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
What you'll do#
- Set up microphones, projectors, monitors, and cables for events in the Holy Spirit Chapel, John Paul Hall, and other locations.
- Assist with livestreaming and recording events.
- Monitor lighting and audiovisual equipment during events.
- Upload recorded talks and events to YouTube and other platforms.
- Participate in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at UT Austin for the 2026-2027 calendar year.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Experience with live audiovisual work, including equipment setup, sound mixing, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and conversation.
- Ability to comply with Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policies.

- Compensation: $14 per hour.
- Schedule: This role averages 5-6 events per semester and may require work on evenings and weekends.
