About the role#
This position serves as a Teaching Assistant for MUS-350L under the direction of Greg Dixon. The role spans the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen Institute of Technology in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference is given to students who have completed MUS-350L with a grade of B or better, though academic waivers are available for qualified candidates.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor during class sessions, including equipment setup and facilitating presentations.
- Grade homework and pre-grade assessments.
- Provide guidance to students regarding music and sound for GAM300 game projects.
- Support students with course assignments and creative work outside of class and lab hours.
- Meet regularly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty planning.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked.

- Proficiency with the course material for MUS-350L.

- Ability to act as a mentor and interact with students on an instructional level.
- Commitment to timely attendance.

Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. This is an on-site position; remote work outside of Washington is not permitted.
- Term: August 31, 2026, through April 23, 2027.
- Hours: 20 hours per week. Work is prohibited during any time a student is scheduled for a class.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, with tasks requiring 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
