About the role#
This Teaching Assistant position supports the MUS-350L course taught by Greg Dixon. The role spans the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms, requiring 20 hours of work per week. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen Institute of Technology, reside in Washington state, and have previously passed MUS-350L with a grade of B or better. This is a paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor during class sessions, including equipment setup and facilitating presentations.
- Grade homework and pre-grade assessments.
- Provide guidance to students on music and sound for GAM300 game projects.
- Support students with course assignments and creative work outside of class and lab hours.
- Meet regularly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty coordination.
- Submit attendance sheets and maintain accurate records of hours worked.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency with the course material for MUS-350L.
- A positive attitude toward learning and a genuine willingness to help others excel.
- Ability to interact with peers in a mentorship capacity.
- Reliable and timely attendance.
- Accountability for tracking and reporting work hours.
- Good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: August 31, 2026, through April 23, 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with the role consisting of approximately 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
- Students are not permitted to work during any time they have a scheduled class.
