About the role#
This Teaching Assistant position supports MUS-150 and MUS-150L for the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves assisting the instructor with classroom operations, grading, and student mentorship. You will work 5 to 10 hours per week while maintaining your own academic commitments. This is a paid position based in Redmond, Washington, and all work must be performed within the state.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom with equipment setup and operation, including slide decks and studio gear.
- Facilitate student presentations and take attendance.
- Provide academic support to students during labs and outside of class hours.
- Pre-grade submitted coursework and assist with grading tasks.
- Meet regularly with the instructor to receive performance feedback and discuss duty modifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Good Academic Standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Proficiency with MUS-150 course materials, concepts, and tools.
- A supportive attitude and comfort interacting with students in a mentorship capacity.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, including occasional stooping or kneeling.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 31 to April 23, 2026).
- Schedule: Monday 2:00 to 3:50 p.m., Wednesday 4:00 to 5:50 p.m., and Friday 2:00 to 3:20 p.m. (Note: You do not need to be available for all class meetings, but you cannot work during any time you are scheduled for a class).
- Compensation: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, based on previous terms worked at DigiPen.
