About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Student Teaching Assistant for DES-101: Principles of Interactive Design for the Fall 2026 term. This position supports the instructor in the classroom and provides mentorship to students enrolled in the course. The role requires a commitment of 10 hours per week from September 1 to December 17, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom as requested.
- Set up and operate equipment for lectures, such as running slide decks.
- Facilitate student presentations and answer student questions during labs.
- Pre-grade assessments and submit attendance sheets.
- Meet weekly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty adjustments.
- Assist with grading outside of the classroom and meet with students as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current matriculated student status at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Proven proficiency with the DES-101 course material, having passed the course with a B or better.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and good academic standing.
- A positive attitude toward learning and a willingness to help others excel.
- Ability to interact with other students on an instructional level as a mentor.
- Reliability, including arriving on time and maintaining focus during work hours.
- Accountability for tracking and reporting time worked.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, depending on the number of terms worked at DigiPen.
- Eligibility: Must reside within the State of Washington. Students may not work during times when they have a scheduled class.
