About the role#
The Computer Science Department at DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Teaching Assistant for CS-370 Computer Imaging for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the instructor in delivering course material related to image representation, filtering, Fourier transforms, and computational photography.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with programming assignments and debugging in C, C++, or Python.
- Hold office hours or lab support sessions to provide academic guidance.
- Grade assignments, quizzes, exams, and projects based on instructor-provided rubrics.
- Help students understand complex image-processing concepts.
- Support final project presentations and general course administration.
- Accurately track and report hours worked.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current graduate or advanced undergraduate student in Computer Science or a related field at DigiPen.
- Must have previously completed CS-370 or CS-570 at DigiPen with a grade of B or better.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Python.
- Solid understanding of image processing, including filtering, histograms, Fourier transforms, interpolation, and noise reduction.
- Ability to debug code and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Preferred experience includes previous tutoring or TA work, and familiarity with libraries such as OpenCV, NumPy, or SciPy.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. This is an on-site position and employees must reside within the state of Washington.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 31 to December 15, 2026).
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per week. Students are not permitted to work during scheduled class times.
- Compensation: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, depending on the number of terms worked at the institution.
