About the role#
This position is for returning student workers who have previously worked in the DigiPen Library. You will help manage daily library operations, support students with equipment, and maintain an orderly space for the campus community.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with information needs and library equipment.
- Process items through the circulation system, including check-ins and check-outs.
- Handle cash or credit card transactions.
- Open or close the library facility.
- Support library functions like cataloguing, acquisitions, interlibrary loans, and test proctoring.
- Collect library usage data and participate in special projects.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of the library space and equipment.
- Explain library and Makerspace policies and rules of conduct to users.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- You must have previously worked in the DigiPen Library.
- You must be eligible for Federal Work Study with an accepted award.
- You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and be in good academic standing.
- You must reside within the State of Washington.
- Strong attention to detail and a sincere desire to help people.
- Reliability and the ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
- An interest in working with Makers and using Makerspace equipment.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Redmond, Washington.
- Work is on-site only.
- This is a part-time position with a maximum of 20 hours per week.
- You cannot work during any time you have a scheduled class, even if a class is canceled or ends early.
- Employment dates are August 24, 2026, through April 23, 2027.
- Evening and weekend shifts may be required.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 lbs and fine motor dexterity.
