About the role#
Dewberry is hiring a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work from our Charlotte, North Carolina office. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to give you hands-on experience with real-world engineering projects.
What you'll do#
You will apply your classroom knowledge to complex water and wastewater projects. Interns work on tasks similar to those handled by full-time staff members. Throughout the summer, you will:
- Collaborate on project teams to help solve client problems.
- Participate in professional development workshops, including career planning and self-assessment sessions.
- Work with firm leaders on a summer-long group project focused on our future strategy.
- Attend networking events to meet staff and other interns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with water or wastewater utilities, GIS, AutoCAD, or Microsoft Office is helpful but not required.
