About the role#
Dewberry is hiring a Water Resources Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in our Owings Mills, Maryland office. You will work alongside our professional team to gain hands-on project experience and apply your technical skills to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Create and perform concept level designs for treatment works.
- Analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models for storm water and watershed master planning.
- Perform work on stream restoration projects.
- Conduct water quality studies.
- Participate in professional development workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of water quality modeling, wastewater modeling, and water quality regulatory issues.
- Familiarity with floodplain delineation, storm water management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Compensation: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour.
