About the role#
Dewberry is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our Raleigh, North Carolina office to work directly with a project team. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the design of building mechanical systems and contributing to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design of building mechanical system projects.
- Perform design tasks and quality control.
- Work on new multi-building facilities, retrofit projects, laboratory designs, and mission critical facilities.
- Conduct energy conservation studies and facility condition assessments.
- Prepare due diligence reports that address operating conditions and construction costs.
- Participate in workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a similar field.
- Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Previous internship experience with a consulting engineering firm is a plus.
- Certification as an Engineering Intern (NCEES) is a plus.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel is a plus.
