About the role#
Dewberry is looking for a Land Survey Intern to join our team in Danville, Virginia, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work as a key member of a survey crew, assisting with boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way acquisition, transmission line, and construction surveys. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to provide hands-on project experience and technical skill development.
What you'll do#
- Assist the field supervisor with daily crew operations.
- Operate survey total stations, data collectors, and levels.
- Manage the daily uploading and downloading of data collector files.
- Maintain and charge instrumentation equipment.
- Follow all safety regulations and work procedures.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mathematical, computer, and data collector skills.
- Effective communication skills and a dependable work ethic.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a driving record check.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
- Capacity to stand for long periods on varied surfaces and perform repetitive movements like stooping, crawling, bending, and squatting.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, including equipment and tools.
- Flexibility to work overtime and travel for out-of-town assignments.
