About the role#
Dewberry is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Birmingham, Alabama. This full-time internship is designed to help you build professional skills while applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to real project tasks. You will gain hands-on experience and work on assignments similar to those handled by our full-time staff.
What you'll do#
- Prepare electrical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications to meet project requirements.
- Participate in professional development workshops, including career planning sessions and DiSC assessments.
- Attend networking events to connect with other interns, staff, and senior leadership.
- Collaborate with fellow interns and firm leaders on a summer-long group project focused on future company strategy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Previous internship experience in electrical engineering is preferred, though not required.
