Data internship

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid data internship for the Fall 2026 term. You will work within a multidisciplinary squad to support the data strategy of Desjardins, focusing on data valorization, analytics, and machine learning operations.

What you'll do#

• Analyze data to deepen the understanding of members and clients, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Create visual reports and provide recommendations for internal partners.
• Explore and develop innovative AI methodologies, including work with synthetic data, generative models, and multimodal language models.
• Collaborate with data scientists and IT experts to design, develop, deploy, and monitor machine learning and AI systems.
• Support data governance by documenting metadata and assisting with the classification of information according to architectural frameworks.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, or Mathematics, with the internship credited or certified by your educational institution.
• Proficiency in French.
• Experience in software development, including object-oriented programming for machine learning operations.
• Knowledge of analytics tools including Tableau, Power BI, SAS, and SQL.
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (such as Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch), and generative AI solutions.
• Competency with the MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
