Operations Associate/Internship Coordinator

About the role#

The Operations Associate/Internship Coordinator is an administrative and programmatic position reporting to the Director of Operations. This role balances the management of the internship program with broader operational projects, supporting the Operations Department, Building Facilities, Accounting, IT, and executive leadership to achieve organizational goals.

What you'll do#

• Administer the internship program, including outreach, recruitment, and onboarding to ensure a successful experience for each intern class.
• Consult with Operations Leadership and Human Resources to refine internship program practices.
• Serve as a liaison between interns, staff, and various departments.
• Lead Front Desk Operations, including managing the organization-wide phone system, facilitating meetings, and coordinating conference room usage.
• Facilitate operational onboarding sessions for new hires.
• Provide support for travel operations, department file management, vendor management, and bill reconciliation.
• Assist with DNC initiatives, events, and the contracting process.

What you'll need#

• A Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of experience in an office environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
• Excellent analytical aptitude and a proactive approach to process improvement.
• Comfort working across multiple software platforms.
• Prior internship management experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure.

Location & details#

• Location: Washington, District of Columbia (On-site).
• Schedule: Full-time.
• Travel: Up to 15% of the time.
• Eligibility: Due to federal campaign finance rules, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible for this role.
