About the role#
Dematic is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern or Co-Op to support material handling projects. You will gain experience across multiple areas of mechanical engineering while assisting our teams with customer-focused solutions. This is a paid, part-time position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Support modernization and upgrades for existing material handling systems.
- Conduct site audits to gather necessary project data.
- Assist with the physical installation of mechanical upgrades.
- Create detailed layouts and documentation for modernization scopes.
- Manage purchase requests and enter parts orders.
- Ensure new equipment is built according to technical specifications.
- Provide technical support to our estimating, sales, engineering, and field operations teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- Familiarity with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD.
- Ability to learn how to maintain and repair material handling systems.
- Proficiency with general computer systems and technology.
- A practical approach to solving design problems and finding cost-efficient solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work within a team.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan or Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
- Pay is estimated between $20.00 and $29.00 per hour based on education, experience, and location.
