About the role#
As an AI App & Tool Development Intern, you will design and build AI-powered tools, automation, and product improvements to help our teams work more effectively. You will collaborate directly with the Application Advisory team, engineers, and consultants to identify high-friction workflows and turn them into functional solutions. This role involves writing code that ships, prototyping ideas, and measuring the impact of your work to ensure it provides meaningful value.
What you'll do#
- Build and enhance internal tools and applications for the Application Advisory team.
- Identify repetitive or manual workflows that can be improved through software, AI, or automation.
- Design and prototype new tools based on business and user requirements.
- Build AI-powered workflows using LLM orchestration, RAG, agentic patterns, and Azure AI.
- Develop backend services and integrations using Python, SQL, APIs, and Azure technologies.
- Create and improve user experiences using JavaScript and React.
- Integrate Dayforce and internal systems to create connected workflows.
- Measure the impact of your builds through metrics like hours saved, adoption, and workflow efficiency.
- Take successful prototypes beyond the proof-of-concept stage to create reliable tools.
- Document solutions and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Intermediate skills in Python and SQL.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and experience with React.
- Understanding of LLM and generative AI fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate loosely defined business problems into technical approaches.
- Comfort working in environments where requirements evolve.
- Ability to prototype quickly.
- Strong communication skills.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 - August 2027).
