Summer Intern - Engineering Design Processes & Standards

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid summer 2026 internship within the Engineering department. The role focuses on updating and creating design processes, as well as researching and designing standardized parts. You will contribute to specific projects, including updating O2 mask work instructions to streamline certification reporting, defining processes for aircraft flooring materials, standardizing blanket configurations, and testing previous engineering work orders.

What you'll do#

• Receive training in Catia V5 and VPM to research 3D designs for project solutions.
• Conduct internet research to identify potential replacement parts.
• Create Product Change Sheets (PCS) to present new ideas to the facility for feedback.
• Participate in progress reviews at the initial, mid-term, and final stages.
• Deliver a final presentation covering all projects worked and their current status.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
• Must reside in the United States.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A willingness to collaborate with various departments inside and outside of design engineering.
• Mechanical Engineering major preferred.

• Compensation: $20.00 per hour, eligible for overtime.
