Dassault Falcon Jet is seeking a Production & Industrial Engineering Intern for our Melbourne, Florida Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facility. This internship focuses on optimizing organization, storage, and workflow processes for aircraft maintenance, interior removal, and component handling. You will work directly with production teams to improve workspace efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate component removal processes for Falcon aircraft, such as panels, interior assemblies, and avionics access, to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Document and improve part-handling workflows to ensure technicians can properly tag, track, and store components, maintaining configuration control for high-value parts.
- Assess material storage systems to identify opportunities for improved layout and organization.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Operations Manager to understand storage needs and facility constraints.
- Work with Procurement to obtain vendor bids, evaluate quotes, and compare solutions for new storage racks, carts, and material-handling equipment.
- Travel to the Little Rock facility as needed to observe best practices and gather requirements for Melbourne improvements.
- Prepare reports and process documentation for engineering and operations leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to bring structure to evolving processes.
- Comfort working in a hands-on environment alongside technicians, facilities staff, and vendors.
- An interest in business aviation, MRO operations, or aerospace manufacturing.
- Ability to travel to the Little Rock facility as required.
