About the role#
The Business Analyst Intern supports strategic decision-making by transforming business data into accurate reports, dashboards, and scorecards. You will assist with data preparation, KPI development, and process analysis to help Dairyland identify trends and improve performance. This position requires working on-site in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards for cross-functional partners.
- Create data visualizations that help technical and nontechnical users understand performance drivers.
- Connect, clean, and organize structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Develop DAX measures and calculated columns to define key performance indicators.
- Review and validate reports, calculations, and source data to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct business process analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Document data sources, business definitions, and report logic.
- Present analytical findings to various audiences.
- Assist in project planning and execution.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in data analytics, information systems, business analytics, data science, statistics, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of data visualization practices including chart selection and visual hierarchy.
- Understanding of relational data, data tables, and relationships.
- Ability to analyze data, recognize trends, and communicate findings.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, including report development, Power Query (M), and DAX.
- Understanding of report performance optimization, row-level security, and publishing practices.
- Ability to manage confidential information and work independently.
- Valid Driver's License.
