About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the guidance of a preceptor, you will complete a training roadmap to gain experience in store, district, and regional operations. You will support the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and patients receive accurate, safe care.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures for prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and documenting information.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations in the market.
