About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a training roadmap to gain experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by immersing you in daily pharmacy operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at every workstation.
- Assist with prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering immunizations, fielding medical questions under supervision, and taking telephonic prescriptions.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members while sharing best practices.
- Complete basic inventory tasks such as processing medication deliveries and cycle counts.
- Deliver patient health services, including point-of-care testing and vaccine education, while monitoring for potential adverse reactions.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling and travel to various store locations within the market as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and strong mathematical reasoning skills.
- Ability to maintain focus, resolve problems, and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks like typing and reaching.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
Location & details#
- Location: Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The pay range for this role is $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
