About the role#
This is an 11-week full-time internship focused on Medicare business analytics. You will join a team responsible for membership forecasting, market analytics, and operational planning. The role provides exposure to enterprise forecasting and profitability analysis while supporting strategic decisions that impact business growth. Interns participate in professional development workshops, community service, and mentorship opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Analyze membership, market, and financial data to support strategic business planning.
- Develop reporting and analytical skills through market performance tracking and data reconciliation.
- Support post-bid planning for the Annual Enrollment Period and operating plan development.
- Learn how healthcare organizations evaluate growth through service area expansion and market analysis.
- Collaborate with partners in Marketing, Sales, Analytics, and Finance.
- Create reports, presentations, and business insights for leaders and stakeholders.
- Monitor business performance and identify trends for operational and financial planning.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an anticipated graduation date between September 2027 and June 2028.
- Major in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in student organizations, sports, or projects.
- Previous internship, work, or project experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools.
- Ability to work with large data sets and translate findings into insights.
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Interest in analytics, forecasting, and healthcare market strategy.
- Interest in obtaining a full-time position within the company after graduation.
Location & details#
- Location: Hartford, Connecticut.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 24, 2027, to August 4, 2027).
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in the Hartford office.
- Compensation: $26.00 per hour, 40 hours per week.
- Employment Status: Full-time.
