About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in landscaping, horticulture, and the management of resort grounds. You will work alongside experienced staff to learn the daily operations of maintaining gardens and lawns. This role involves active participation in the care of the property, including preparation for summer events like festivals, weddings, and conferences.
What you'll do#
- Maintain perennial garden beds, annual flowerpots, and turf throughout the property.
- Prune shrubs and trees as needed.
- Manage irrigation systems for gardens and turf areas.
- Perform daily garden management for homeowner associations.
- Prepare the resort for various events and conferences.
- Maintain equipment and provide service to guests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an agriculture-related educational program.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and remain on your feet for most of the workday.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Clear verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Dependability and a commitment to meeting goals.
- Compliance with company appearance and uniform standards.
- Previous grounds or horticultural experience is preferred. Non-smoking candidates are preferred.
