About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in golf operations and administration. You will work directly with the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and Assistant Professionals to learn how a resort golf department functions. The program covers the relationship between golf course maintenance and daily operations while focusing on guest service standards.
What you'll do#
- Manage daily Pro-Shop tasks including POS transactions and Tee-Sheet scheduling.
- Assist with the execution of the Michigan Women’s Open, member events, and golf outings.
- Coordinate with volunteers for events and handle guest inquiries regarding handicap records.
- Monitor cart fleet management, course traffic, and pace of play using GPS technology.
- Process annual memberships and maintain departmental calendars.
- Help develop and implement Junior golf programs.
- Provide administrative support including typing documents, managing correspondence, and ordering office supplies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a field-related educational program.
- Ability to provide internship program requirements for approval.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Clear verbal communication skills and a focus on guest service.
- Previous golf industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work on your feet for most of the day.
- Availability to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Adherence to company appearance and uniform standards.
- Non-smoking candidates are preferred.

- Location: Thompsonville, Michigan.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: Paid at 16 USD per hour.
