About the role#
The Rooms Division Intern gains experience across Front Office, Reservations, and Facilities operations. You will support daily resort administration while learning how to manage hospitality leadership tasks. This role involves rotating through different departments to build a complete understanding of resort operations.
What you'll do#
- Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and check-in or check-out procedures.
- Manage cash transactions at the Front Desk and ensure billing accuracy for guests.
- Communicate hotel rates and use suggestive selling techniques to support revenue goals.
- Assist with daily facilities tasks, including shuttling, cleaning, and waste management.
- Shadow department managers and attend leadership meetings, such as resort operations and function sheet meetings.
- Participate in customer service and resort operating system training.
- Answer incoming calls and schedule guest wake-up calls.
- Gain insight into revenue management, rate building, and sales strategies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a field-related educational program and documentation of internship requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn customized software programs and use office technology like scanners and copiers.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to present information clearly.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
- An unrestricted and insurable driving record.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to company appearance standards and uniform requirements.
- Availability to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Prior experience with Springer Miller (SMS) is helpful.
- Non-smoking candidates are preferred.
