About the role#
This is a full-time, paid software engineering internship based in Dallas. You will learn about software development processes and the insurance industry while contributing to the goals of our organization. This role is hybrid, requiring one day per week in the office, with flexibility based on your class schedule.
What you'll do#
- Participate in IT projects, covering requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Complete assignments to assist the department mission.
- Learn about insurance workflows and the various divisions within the company.
- Gain technical, analytical, and decision-making skills through formal and informal training.
- Network with leaders and teammates to build professional connections.
- Receive regular feedback throughout the program.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least sophomore-level coursework toward a bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance.
- Coursework in high-level programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python.
- Experience with JavaScript.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain professional composure.
- An enthusiastic attitude.
- Flexibility in managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership aptitude.
- Interest in pursuing application development as a career.
- Previous work or internship experience is preferred.
