About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship at Crane Company. You will work on-site in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, on a rolling basis. Your work focuses on maintaining the supply of materials and services while managing costs and improving processes.
What you'll do#
- Manage MRP requirements and Kanban levels for direct materials.
- Generate and adjust purchase orders to support production schedules.
- Communicate forecasted requirements to external suppliers.
- Maintain department MDI boards and ensure system data accuracy.
- Develop and manage pull-based material replenishment processes.
- Support resourcing and out-sourcing projects.
- Review and develop new and existing suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing and evaluate alternate parts to improve product rationalization.
- Participate in Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events to eliminate waste.
- Support quality improvements and ensure compliance with ISO 9001-2015 and IATF 16949 2016 standards.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make fact-based decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in multifunctional teams.
- Experience building collaborative relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Preferred: Experience with suppliers from low-cost regions, lean concepts, ERP systems, and supplier performance management.
