About the role#
As a Process Engineer Co-Op, you will own projects focused on improving production loss in areas such as cost, quality, and safety. You will work within a manufacturing environment that includes chemical processing, warehouse systems, material optimization, and high-speed filling and packing technologies. This role provides practical experience in applying engineering studies to real-world manufacturing challenges.
What you'll do#
- Apply process improvement tools, including statistical process control and Lean methodology.
- Analyze critical line data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop standards and train line technicians to support continuous improvement at the line.
- Collaborate with New Product Development to ensure the effective implementation of new products.
- Drive cost savings by improving productivity, material utilization, and labor optimization.
- Document processes through flow diagrams and adhere to site GMP policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. degree program in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, or Business Administration, with 1-2 years remaining until graduation.
- Analytical problem-solving and information-gathering skills.
- Working knowledge of statistics, specifically Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Familiarity with Lean tools such as pFMEA, SMED, value stream mapping, and mistake proofing.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, Access, drawing software, and SAP.
