About the role#
This Co-Op position offers the chance to manage projects focused on reducing carbon footprints and improving production metrics. You will work within a manufacturing environment, focusing on areas such as chemical processing, warehouse systems, and high-speed filling technologies. This is a paid, full-time role designed to provide practical experience in a professional engineering setting.
What you'll do#
- Identify and execute sustainability projects to support Net-Zero Fossil Fuel efforts.
- Use process improvement tools like Lean methodology and statistical process control to analyze systems.
- Evaluate critical data to spot trends and offer recommendations for performance improvements.
- Create standards and provide training for facilities technicians to support continuous improvement.
- Increase productivity and resource utilization to drive cost savings.
- Develop and document process flow diagrams and other technical standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. degree program in Industrial, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, or Business Administration, Logistics, or Operations Management.
- 1 to 2 years remaining until graduation.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and information-gathering skills.
- Working knowledge of statistics, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency with office software and drawing tools.
