About the role#
This is a 7.5-month co-op position based in our Belcamp, Maryland distribution center. You will own a project focused on improving production loss in areas such as cost, quality, and safety. You will work across teams including making, chemical processing, warehouse systems, and high-speed filling and packing technologies. This role requires you to lead continuous improvement activities through data analysis and root cause problem-solving to achieve specific project goals.
What you'll do#
- Apply process improvement tools including statistical process control, process mapping, and design of experiments.
- Analyze critical line data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop standards and train line technicians to support continuous improvement at the line level.
- Create and document processes using Process Flow Diagrams.
- Collaborate with teams such as New Product Development, Engineering, and Supplier Quality to implement new products and link operational requirements with material capabilities.
- Drive cost savings by improving productivity, material utilization, and labor optimization.
- Follow all site GMP policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- A B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering with 1-2 years remaining until graduation.
- Working knowledge of statistics, specifically Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Familiarity with Lean tools such as poka yoke, pFMEA, SMED, and value stream mapping.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and SAP.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and information-gathering skills.
