About the role#
The Field Services Intern supports orchard operations, harvest planning, and field research through hands-on fieldwork and data collection. You will gain exposure to commercial agriculture by assisting with orchard evaluations, logistics coordination, and process improvement projects. This is a full-time, on-site, seasonal position based in Stockton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily grower harvest planning and load scheduling models.
- Evaluate orchards for health and production factors like fruit set, canopy development, and irrigation.
- Partner with the Field Technical Services department on research projects and field trials.
- Document findings and enter data from multiple sources into internal systems.
- Assist with projects focused on harvest efficiency and logistics.
- Maintain accurate orchard boundary updates and field mapping.
- Collect trial data including imagery, yield measurements, and canopy metrics.
- Help develop and improve standard operating procedures.
- Drive a company vehicle to orchards and other work sites as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year college or university.
- At least one season of experience with Stanislaus Food Products.
- Minimum of one year of experience in data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic math and grammar.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid CA Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred skills include:
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM and 10 Key at 9000 with 95% accuracy.
- Familiarity with the Ignition database.
- Ability to work long hours outdoors in various elements.
- Ability to travel to field locations while maximizing route efficiency.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks with high consistency.
