About the role#
As a Process Engineering Intern, you will apply scientific methods to improve manufacturing processes and product design. You will work within the Environmental Technologies segment, which focuses on ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Christiansburg, Virginia, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Generate hypotheses and design experiments to build fundamental understanding of processes.
- Conduct hands-on work in laboratory, pilot, or manufacturing environments.
- Analyze data and generate reports to share findings with team members and leaders.
- Communicate project status, updates, and results through memos, technical reports, and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS or MS degree in a technical field.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Programming skills.
- Ability to collaborate with peers and integrate solutions.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing situations.
- Strong communication skills and a results-oriented mindset.
- Interest in working for Corning after graduation.
