About the role#
Cordell and Cordell PC is seeking a Summer Associate for our Peoria, Arizona office during the summer of 2027. This paid, full-time internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in family law by working alongside seasoned attorneys. The program is designed to mirror the experience of a first-year associate, offering meaningful legal work and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Draft and analyze legal documents for active family law cases.
- Conduct legal research and help prepare trial materials.
- Attend court proceedings with experienced attorneys.
- Participate in client meetings to gain insight into case strategy.
- Work closely with a Litigation Partner to build a foundational understanding of family law practice.
- Engage in firm-sponsored networking and social events.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to help the business run effectively.
What you'll need#
- You are a current 2L student (2028 graduate) in good standing at an accredited law school.
- You have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in family law.
- You hold a law school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- You have the ability to reside in the assigned office location for the duration of the program.
- You are flexible regarding work locations upon graduation.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
