Student Radiology Tech

About the role#

The Student Radiology Tech role provides an opportunity to develop technical skills and clinical competency under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This position supports patient care by assisting with imaging examinations and adhering to safety protocols within a hospital environment.

What you'll do#

• Perform radiologic examinations under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist.
• Position patients appropriately and select technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Communicate with patients to provide instructions and promote comfort during procedures.
• Follow department protocols regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), radiation safety, and infection control.
• Accurately label images, use side markers, and document procedures in the appropriate systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
• Seek guidance from technologists and instructors to enhance learning and ensure competent performance.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• 0-1 years of clinical experience.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification, required within 30 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of radiographic procedures, imaging equipment, and radiation safety principles.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
