Nurse Intern Cardiac

About the role#

The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning, collaboration with the healthcare team, and providing safe, compassionate care to contribute to the patient healing process.

What you'll do#

• Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and patient comfort measures.
• Communicate effectively with the care team, including performing handoffs, reporting changes in patient conditions, and participating in bedside shift reports.
• Develop clinical skills by seeking feedback and applying evidence-based practices under the guidance of an RN.
• Perform hourly rounding and provide purposeful patient interactions to foster therapeutic relationships.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring patient rooms and shared workspaces meet safety and compliance standards.
• Assist with basic equipment maintenance, including glucometers, bladder scanners, and scales.
• Document all tasks and observations clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner according to facility policies.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program.
• Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
• 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety (for Skilled Nursing).
