Nurse Intern Med Surg

About the role#

The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and assisting with essential care tasks to help maintain a therapeutic environment for patients.

What you'll do#

• Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene and patient comfort.
• Communicate effectively with the care team, including participating in handoffs, reporting changes in patient conditions, and joining bedside shift reports.
• Perform hourly rounding and engage in purposeful interactions with patients and families.
• Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately in accordance with facility policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and storage of patient care equipment such as glucometers and scales.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
• Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
• 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Valid CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and staff.
