The Pharmacy Intern PRN role provides students with a comprehensive learning experience in hospital pharmacy practice. Interns work alongside licensed pharmacists to support pharmacy operations, patient care, and inventory management, contributing to improved patient outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications according to established protocols.
- Participate in medication reconciliation and help manage medication therapy for patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to collect medication histories and provide patient education under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all pharmacy activities and interventions.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, restocking, and performing routine safety checks on medication storage areas.
- Participate in pharmacy rounds and assist with clinical activities as assigned.
- Engage in continuing education and contribute to departmental projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) approved program.
- 0-1 years of Introductory or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience gained through a training program.
- Valid Licensed Pharmacy Tech State Pharmacy Intern or Technician Registration/Permit.

- Schedule: PRN (as needed).
- This position is open to University of Arizona College of Pharmacy students entering their 2nd year in the Fall.
