Pharmacy Intern PRN

About the role#

The Pharmacy Intern PRN role provides students with a comprehensive learning experience in hospital pharmacy practice. Interns work alongside licensed pharmacists to support pharmacy operations, patient care, and inventory management, contributing to improved patient outcomes.

What you'll do#

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications according to established protocols.
• Participate in medication reconciliation and help manage medication therapy for patients.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to collect medication histories and provide patient education under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all pharmacy activities and interventions.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, restocking, and performing routine safety checks on medication storage areas.
• Participate in pharmacy rounds and assist with clinical activities as assigned.
• Engage in continuing education and contribute to departmental projects.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) approved program.
• 0-1 years of Introductory or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience gained through a training program.
• Valid Licensed Pharmacy Tech State Pharmacy Intern or Technician Registration/Permit.

• This position is open to University of Arizona College of Pharmacy students entering their 2nd year in the Fall.
