Radiologic Tech Student

About the role#

The Radiologic Tech Student performs diagnostic imaging procedures under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This role focuses on developing technical skills and clinical competency through supervised learning experiences across various imaging modalities while supporting patient care and maintaining a safe environment.

What you'll do#

• Perform radiologic examinations under direct supervision, including proper patient identification and adherence to imaging protocols.
• Position patients appropriately and select technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Communicate with patients to provide instructions and support comfort during procedures.
• Follow department protocols for radiation safety, infection control, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Label images accurately using side markers according to departmental standards.
• Document procedures in electronic systems, ensuring all required fields are completed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.
• Seek guidance from technologists and instructors to ensure safe and competent performance.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• 0-1 years of clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, required within 30 days of hire.
• Foundational understanding of radiographic procedures, imaging equipment, radiation safety, and infection prevention.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients and staff, follow instructions, and apply feedback.
