The Radiology Tech Student (PRN) performs diagnostic imaging procedures under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. This role is designed to support patient care while you develop technical skills and clinical competency across various imaging modalities. You will work within a clinical environment to ensure high-quality imaging while adhering to safety and departmental protocols.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations under supervision, ensuring proper patient identification and adherence to imaging protocols.
- Position patients appropriately and select technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate with patients to provide instructions and promote comfort during imaging procedures.
- Adhere to department protocols for radiation safety, infection control, and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Document procedures accurately in the appropriate systems, including image labeling and charge entry.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
- Seek guidance from technologists and clinical instructors to enhance performance and learning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- 0-1 years of clinical experience.
- Basic understanding of radiographic procedures and imaging equipment.
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles and infection prevention practices.
- Ability to obtain BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to apply feedback in a clinical setting.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
