Nurse Intern

About the role#

The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration within a healthcare team to provide safe and compassionate care to patients.

What you'll do#

• Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene and comfort.
• Communicate effectively with the care team by participating in handoffs, bedside shift reports, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including patient rooms and shared workspaces.
• Document all tasks and observations clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Assist with basic equipment maintenance and ensure proper cleaning and storage of care tools.
• Perform hourly rounding and engage in purposeful interactions to foster therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Uphold high standards of customer service when interacting with patients, families, and staff.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
• Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
• 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Valid CPR certification issued by the AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail in a clinical environment.
