The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe, organized care while contributing to the patient healing process.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and comfort measures.
- Communicate effectively with the care team by reporting changes in patient conditions and participating in handoffs and bedside shift reports.
- Develop clinical skills by asking questions, seeking feedback, and applying evidence-based practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance, including cleaning and proper storage of items after patient discharge.
- Perform hourly rounding and purposeful interactions to foster therapeutic relationships.
- Document tasks and observations clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety (for Skilled Nursing).
- Basic understanding of patient care procedures and medical terminology.
