About the role#
This internship provides nursing students with hands-on experience in a clinical environment. You will work within a nursing unit to assist patients in achieving health outcomes. The program lasts for 240 hours during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Support care delivery according to internal policies and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Provide physiological, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans using the nursing process.
- Meet the educational needs of patients, families, and co-workers.
- Adhere to infection-control protocols and medication administration procedures.
- Support the delegation of care while respecting staff qualifications.
- Follow mission and values to maintain a supportive environment.
What you'll need#
- Completion of the 5th semester of an accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Program by May 2027.
- Ability to commit to 240 internship hours.
- Working knowledge of clinical skills for patient care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or the ability to obtain it during orientation.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- A commitment to accountability and maintaining patient confidentiality.
