About the role#
The Cleveland Guardians Baseball Technology Fellowship is a full-time, paid position designed to accelerate professional development within our organization. You will work with one of our minor league affiliates, reporting to the Baseball Technology, Player Development, and Baseball Operations departments. This role involves managing data streams, supporting coaching staff, and serving as a resource for players. You will travel to away games and contribute to research that advances our organizational procedures.
What you'll do#
- Oversee the operation of bat, ball, and player tracking systems and sports science technologies.
- Manage video processes during pre-game, in-game, and post-game periods.
- Assist with the interpretation and distribution of collected data and video.
- Troubleshoot and support Baseball Technology issues.
- Support affiliate coaching staff with the Advance Scouting Process.
- Assist staff with administrative tasks such as scheduling, team travel, and player housing.
- Help Minor League field staff with pre-game activities.
- Collaborate with staff to monitor player goals and progress.
- Perform ad hoc research and analysis, communicating findings to coaching staff and relevant departments.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A demonstrated passion for baseball technology, scouting, analytics, sports science, biomechanics, or related fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work extended days, hours, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to work in a diverse and changing environment.
- Ability to walk, sit, or stand for an entire shift and move throughout all areas of the ballpark.
