About the role#
The Reconciliation Analyst Intern supports the team by comparing investment portfolio data from external sources against an advanced web-based reconciliation system. You will work alongside experienced analysts to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of portfolio status updates to clients. This role focuses on building foundational skills in financial reconciliation and reporting.
What you'll do#
- Review and update reporting data to help meet daily deadlines.
- Investigate and address issues within the reconciliation system with guidance from mentors.
- Support the team in building relationships with data providers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Build familiarity with internal tools and processes through hands-on training.
- Develop an understanding of financial concepts and how they apply to reconciliation errors.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external parties.
- Complete assigned projects or learning modules to deepen your technical and industry knowledge.
- Demonstrate curiosity about product innovation opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Sciences, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of investment, financial, and accounting concepts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and Pivot Tables.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and solve problems.
- Coursework or interest in securities or financial markets is preferred.
- Familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, or VBA is a plus.
