About the role#
Clean Harbors is seeking a Chemistry or Engineering Intern to join our team in Sumter, South Carolina. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental, energy, and industrial services. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support real projects and gain practical insight into our operations.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all company policies and safe work practices.
- Assist with timekeeping reviews, project management tasks, and job execution.
- Perform wet bench chemistry and analytical testing under direct supervision.
- Support pre-job engineering preparation and documentation.
- Conduct technical research to assist with project management.
- Participate in team meetings, job briefings, and training sessions.
- Present a summary of your work and lessons learned at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited institution.
- A strong interest in the environmental services industry.
- Ability to work well within a professional team.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant technical tools.
