About the role#

The City of Atlanta is seeking an intern for the Municipal Court for the Summer 2026 term. This role is designed for students currently in high school or pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree to gain practical experience and knowledge of municipal government functions. You will work under direct supervision, following standardized procedures to complete assigned tasks.

What you'll do#

• Perform diverse administrative and project-based duties.
• Engage in on-the-job training regarding operational policies and work procedures.
• Collect data and information to compile and prepare reports.
• Assist staff by preparing presentations and handling clerical tasks such as filing and answering phones.
• Attend project team meetings to contribute to organizational goals.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in high school or an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree program in an appropriate discipline, such as Public Health, Political Science, Psychology, Business Administration, or Communications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong planning, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new information and apply it to work processes.
