About the role#
The 2026 Summer College Internship (AIM) provides students with the opportunity to gain professional experience within the City of Atlanta's Department of Atlanta Information Management. Interns work under direct supervision, following standardized procedures to support municipal government operations. This is a 10-week, paid internship program.
What you'll do#
- Perform diverse administrative and project-based duties tailored to specific department assignments.
- Engage in on-the-job training regarding operational policies and work procedures to contribute to organizational goals.
- Collect data, conduct research, and compile information to prepare reports and documentation.
- Prepare presentations for staff members and participate in project team meetings.
- Handle filing and various clerical tasks as required to support team objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree program in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science, Business Administration, or Data Science.
- Knowledge of professional functions including Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Human Resources, User Experience Design, Data Analytics, Project Management, or Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong skills in planning, organization, and presentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly assimilate new information into work processes to achieve desired outcomes.
