About the role#
This 10-week summer internship program offers hands-on experience in data engineering within the banking industry. Interns work alongside data engineers to support enterprise technology initiatives. You will use technical skills to analyze data and provide insights to stakeholders. The program includes mentorship, networking opportunities, professional development workshops, and community service activities. High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time role upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Use big data techniques to derive insights from enterprise data.
- Gain exposure to AWS cloud-native platforms and build batch or real-time data pipelines.
- Strengthen programming skills in Java, Python, and SQL while working with Spark.
- Build foundational knowledge of data modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop an understanding of enterprise AI platforms, including predictive analytics and generative AI workloads.
- Gain experience with LLM architectures, RAG, vector databases, and agentic AI systems.
- Contribute to AI solutions through APIs, microservices, and secure platform integration.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering with an expected graduation date of May 2028.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Successful completion of a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link.
- Experience working with raw and prepared datasets.
- Understanding of master data management principles and processes.
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Practical experience with data engineering solutions through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Familiarity with ETL, ELT, Star Schema, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Beam, Flink, or message brokers like Apache Kafka.
- Understanding of custodial and consumer banking functions.
- Permanent work authorization in the United States is required. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.

- Locations: Johnston, RI; Phoenix, AZ; or Plano, TX.

- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
