    About the role#

    As a Background Screening Analyst Co-op, you will join the People, Culture and Brand team. You will conduct background screening verifications for employees and contingent workers. This involves researching, analyzing, and documenting findings to provide recommendations to various lines of business. You will work to ensure these verifications are completed within required time frames while maintaining compliance with the CIBC Global Hiring Policy.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide background screening verification for employees and contingent workers.
    • Research, analyze, and document results to advise various lines of business.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including HR, Talent Acquisition, and third-party vendors, to coordinate work efforts.
    • Build and maintain relationships with diverse groups to ensure a smooth screening process.
    • Act with due diligence to ensure data integrity.
    • Recommend solutions to improve current background screening processes.
    • Analyze the quality, relevance, and validity of information to formulate conclusions that mitigate risk.

    What you'll need#

    • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to investigate situations.
    • Experience providing high levels of service to candidates and internal partners.
    • Ability to adhere to tight timelines and make accurate recommendations.
    • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
    • Experience with fraud investigations is considered an asset.

    Location & details#

    • This role is based in Toronto, Ontario.
    • The position is full-time and follows a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 1-3 days per week on-site.
    • This is a paid co-op opportunity.
