About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in grain origination. You will work alongside our Grain Originator in Ruthton, Minnesota, to engage with local producers, secure grain, and develop marketing strategies.
What you'll do#
- Procure grain from local producers and reach out to new accounts.
- Update producers on market trends, grain quotes, programs, and marketing plans.
- Draft and report all purchasing contracts.
- Support the Grain Originator with rail billing and grain sales settlements.
- Coordinate with elevator and office staff to improve grain flow.
- Provide customer service to our patrons.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Ag Business, Crop Science, or related agriculture degree program.
- Background knowledge in agriculture, crops, or grain is helpful.
- Previous internship experience is a plus.
