About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in Sycamore, Illinois. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical experience in agronomy sales and operations. The internship covers the Winter and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Support the Agronomy Sales Representative with field tasks like crop scouting, soil sampling, and solving agronomic problems.
- Design, monitor, and summarize farm trials to share findings with customers and the team.
- Use integrated pest management techniques to identify treatment thresholds.
- Create written reports and present them to your supervisor or customers.
- Learn the features and benefits of agronomy products and services.
- Assist with over-the-counter sales and product deliveries.
- Gain experience in warehouse and agronomy plant operations.
- Use the Agris software for invoicing and inventory management.
- Help with inventory procedures and the maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Follow environmental and safety policies to maintain a compliant work environment.
- Perform custom application tasks if qualified or as needed.
- Provide assistance to other departments when required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Agriculture-related degree program, such as Ag Business or Crop Science.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Previous experience in agriculture is preferred.
- Prior internship experience is preferred.
